I have a 1984 305 V8 that appears to be leaking oil from the head gasket. This is a rebuilt engine with about 10,000 miles on the rebuild, there is not an antifreeze leak, and the oil leak is only on the drive side. The engine runs well, but is going thru a quart of oil every 100 miles or so.

Would you recommend replacing the head gasket? Also, I can't seem to find much detail on removal/install of a head?

You sure it's the head gasket and not the valve cover? 1 quart every 100 miles, I think is so severe that it would loose compression and antifreeze. Any plug fouling?
