I have a 97 Chevy s-10, it is 4 cylinder and has about 118,000 miles on it. I recently began having problems with the clutch. There was no play on it and then one day it stopped working colpletely. I topped off the clutch fluid and was able to pump it for a while, which brought it back. It worked for maybe 3 weeks then stopped working completly. I took it to a shop and they told me there is a leak in the slave cylinder and that it needs to be replaced. I was just wondering if someone could tell me if this sounds accurate and if they could let me know about what the cost should be (labor and parts).

Thanks!

Yes that could cause your problem. If all they do is r&r slave cyl. And bleed the system I would think no more than 2 hrs. Its not that hard to replace and bleed. As for parts just depends on dealer or aftermarket. Your choice but this part realy doesnt have to be factory to be a good replacment.
