I have a 2000 S10 (2 wheel dr/ 4 cyl) that is hard to shift. I purchased it off my son and he said it needed a new Slave Cylinder for the clutch. It is harder to shift in the last couple of weeks, and I would like to know 1- How do I know it needs one. And 2- How to install it.
Any and all information is appreciated.

Hi:
Does the truck chatter or jump when you pull out?

Not really. Shifting is forced. To the point I feel I am going to break the stick shift. Grinding is present about 50% of the shifts. Reverse is a two handed shift.

It sounds like it needs replaced or you have a worn pressure plate that isn't disengaging the trans. Go with the cheapest and easiest first, the slave cylender.
