Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Chevy S-10 4 cyl Automatic 297000 miles

Truck quit at a stop light. Started right up and died for good at next stop light. Don't hear the fuel pump so assume that's the problem. $250 dollars later the new fuel pump not working either. Came with a new type of module (AC Delco pump) that had to be spliced in in place of old one. Did a continuity check on plug and have nothing on the black wire. Can't find a break in the wire as far as I can trace it back. I know it could be the oil sending unit, but the oil pressure climbs as I crank the engine. I don't have a multimeter so I can't check the voltage at the pump.
The tank had just been filled before this happened so I pulled the bed rather than dropping the tank.
Thank you

Black wsire is the ground and if there is no continuity to ground then fix bad ground. Look on the frame rail for the ground connection

Thank you very, very much. As I said, I removed the bed and in so doing disconnected the wiring to pull the bed off. I thought the ground wire I unhooked was only for the lights, and as I hadn't put the bed back on yet hadn't reconnected. Fired right up when I connected it.
I'm a wrencher, not a trouble shooter. Again, thank you.
