1997 Chevy S-10 ENGINE WONT START

Engine problem
1997 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 67543. Miles

ENGINE WONT START. NO FUEL PRESSURE, BUT GOOD SPARK. JUMPPED 12V TO FUEL PUMP TEST LEAD ON DRIVERS SIDE FIRE WALL, AND NOW HAVE 45 PSI AT TEST PORT ON FUEL LINE WITH JUMPER WIRE ATTATCHED. WHEN WIRE IS DISCONNECTED PRESSURE FALLS TO 0 PSI. WITH JUMPER ATTATCHED, AND FUEL PRESSURE AT 45 PSI, AND SPARK TO PLUGS ENGINE STILL WONT START. ANY IDEAS TO LACK OF CURRENT TO FUEL PUMP AND STILL NOT STARTING WITH FUEL PUMP ENERGIZED WITH 45 PSI. CRANK SENSOR? CAM SENSOR? OR MABEY FUEL INJECTORS NOT FIRING? HOPE YOU CAN GUESS THIS ONE. Any codes? Sounds like it isnt getting injector pulse. If you spray carb cleaner in the engine will it run?

JACK, HOOKED UP MY OTC GENYSIS AND FOUND NO CURRENT CODES, NO HISTORY CODES. SPRAYED CARB CLEANER INTO THROTTLE BODY, AND ON THIRD ATTEMPT ENGINE STARTED, SPUTTERED FOR A WHILE AND THEN CONTINUED TO RUN ON ITS OWN. FUEL PUMP NOW ENGAGING ON ITS OWN AND ENGINE RUNNING. YESTERDAY NO CURRENT TO FUEL PUMP WITH KEY ON. NO ENGINE START WITH FUEL PUMP HOT WIRED. TODAY AFTER CARB CLEANER SPRAYED INTO THROTTLE BODY ALL WORKS OK. WHAT THE HELL COULD CAUSE CURRENT TO FUEL PUMP TODAY AND ENGINE START UP TODAY? WEIRD! THIS OUGHT TO PICK YOUR BRAIN. ANY IDEAS? THANK YOU, MARK

That pump is probably bad. Pressure shouldnt fall to 0psi when wire is removed, should hold pressure for a while.
