My pick-up is difficult to put into gear. It wil not on an incline while in gear with the clutch depressed. Shifted into neutral in the same situation it rolls freely.

First, I replaced the master cylinder and bled the system. The symptom persisted.

I next suspected the slave cylinder. In this model year the transmission must come down to replace the slave cylinder. In that case I replaced the whole clutch assembly and slave cylinder. The only visual concern was a slightly dry throw-out bearing but it turned freely.

After reassembly and bleeding the hydraulics again the problem persists. All new parts in the clutch system now. I have no idea where to turn now.

Can you help?

Must still be air in the system. Sometimes can be very hard to get out. Try bleeding it again with a piece of hose going to bleeder screw and then into cup of brake fluid and keep it submerged the entire time while bleeding the snot out of it. Like bench bleeding a regular master cylinder. I have found on some of these that the bleeder screw is lower that it should be keeping some air trapped inside and I had to reverse bleed the system.
