Engine Mechanical problem
1988 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

88 S10 stalled while in normal motion, cranks good. About every five seconds it fires a bit. Components check ok?
A 2.8 engine, I had driven about a mile, stopped at a sign and during normal acceleration the engine quit like someone had turned off the key. No backfires, no noise from the engine. All gauges seem to work. I checked the timing and thats ok. I have replaced the distributor cap & rotor, coil, electronic spark control, pick-up coil and cleaned all the plugs. It gets plenty of fuel and has spark at the plugs, all the fuses are good. Seems to be nothing wrong. Prior to when it quit, the check engine light had been coming on but not constantly. Is it possible that I have fixed the problem and the computer needs reset? How do I do that?

Welcome, what is the fuel pressure spec? Engine cranking, can you see injector spray pattern? I've seen nice looking spray patterns before and the pressure was half of what it should have been. There may not be anything wrong with your fuel system, just can't tell without asking questions.
