I have a 1984 chevy celebrity which has a 2.8 v-6 with a carburetor and I want to know is it possible to change the gas tank, fuel lines, and wiring harness to make it fuel injected like the later models which came with the fuel injected 2.8 and 3.1. I understand this is a lot of work but is it possible because I have a 1989 multi port injected 2.8 which came out a later model celebrity which I would love to use in my 1984 model

I am affraid you will run into some major problems with this sort of a modification. I would see you needed to replace the intake manifold to work with a throttle body instead of carb, which means all of your vacuum hoses will need to be rerouted and or modifided to drive their respective systems. I see no input sensors to drive a fuel injection system, much less the computer to control it all. Also your changing harness may match up to some of the new items on the engine, but will they match up with the other items that are not in the fuel injection system. We havent even touched on the balance betwen the transmission and the engine needing to be in sync with the computers for timing, controls, and messages.
Could you get it to run, probably not. But if some way you did, you would have so many problems that it wouldnt be worth it.
