I got a 1997 Chevy Lumina, 120,400 miles on it, she still runs, but my question is this, there's a hose-like pipe from the bottom of the EGR Valve to the Intake Manifold, can that be tooken off? might sound dumb, nut I gotta know. I wanna clean it out and see if that'll fix the problem because I got the P0401 engine code, Insufficient EGR flow. someody let me know.

If no modifications to the exhaust system have been made, then inspect the exhaust system for leaks. If no leaks, remove the EGR valve and insp the pintle, valve passages and adapter for excessive deposits or any kind of restriction. Check EGR gasket for leaks or pipe leaks.
If no problems, remove the EGR inlet and outlet pipes from the manifold and insp ports and pipes for deposits, or obstructions.
If that doesnt help, you are going to have to start chasing wires.
