Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Other Chevrolet Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1997 Chevy (diesel fueled) R3500 flat bed truck that the batteries wouldn't hold a charge so the battery and the ends were replaced. Over the weekend, the truck just caught fire. Would you happen to know what may have happened?

it's hard to tell why the vehicle caught fire. If the battery cables were melted then it was probably something not done correctly on the install of those or the ends that were put on. there are fusible links and heavy fuses that are supposed to stop that sort of thing, but not seeing it nor being a fire investigator it's hard to say on the computer here.
