Interior problem
1977 Other Chevrolet Models

The passenger side door lock will not unlock from the outside, it's like the key can't turn far enough to unlock the door. Then on the drivers side u can use the key to get in BUT you have to open the door and then remove the key because when u turn the key back far enough to remove the key it relocks the door. I've changed the actual locks but no change so i'm assuming it's in the linkage, help!

How exactly do the locking mechanisms work coming from the key cylinder? It sounds like the type with the key cylinder turning a 2" tab attached to a thin metal rod, and the rods have bent. If so take the door panels off and straighten the rods until both locks work properly. You could also try a junk yard to replace bent parts of the linkage.

Ok well what you are describing sounds right, so should the rods be completely straight?

Yes, there shouldn't be any gentle curves in them. Only angled bends.
