1998 Chevy Monte Carlo fuel issues

First my car wouldnt hardly start then when it did it ran rough for a few minutes but would clear up and drive as long as you wanted until you turned it off then it wouldnt start for awhile but woyuld do same thing I had run it out of gas so someone told me change filter I did now it starts right up and idles fine but when I gas on it it misses and if I try to drive it it wont hardly pull itsself I checked under the hood where you canpush the button to see the fuel spray before I chenged filter it would spray a good strem then spurt and repeat itsself now it spays a steady strem but its a weak stream can you please help

You really need to connect a fuel pressure gauge and read the pressure. Should be atleast 35 psi. Also check the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail, it has a vacuum line connected to it, if you disconnect the vacuum line and there is any sign of fuel then thats your problem. I am worried it doesnt do anything like it did before it totally chenged before if you let it sit there and idle it woud clear totally up and had trouble starting now it fires right up but it sounds like its ticking and it idles fine but when you gas on it it tries to die and it backfires under the hood we checked the vacuum hose on the fuel rail no sign of gas

Sounds like low fuel pressure. Try disconnecting plug wires, one at a time on the coil tower and see if any are burnt or rusty.
