Steering problem
1998 Chevy Malibu Automatic 84,520 miles

A few days ago my car began to make a really loud noise when I would turn the sterring wheel. No it is starting to become hard to turn the wheel. I looked at the power steering fluid and it seemed to be full, but i don't really know for sure. Now when I turn the wheel, it feels like it is getting harder to turn.

There is a dipstick built on the cap. It indicates if it is full when cold, warm, hot. See if you can check that, Check with the engine off. Also, make sure the belt is tight.

Let me know what you find.
