This car has an erratic speedometer on an intermittent basis. Car runs fine for a while then the speedometer jumps around and the tranmission seems to jump into neutral or "miss" momentarily. I have changed speed sensor. This did not help at all. It seems like a loose connection somewhere because it acts up for a while then will work as expected for a while. Light brake pedal pressure seems to stabilizer the speedometer.

check for broken wire at speed sensor. very common for wire breaking inside the insulation at the speed sensor connector. lightly pull on wires at plug and see if it breaks then repair. definitely sounds like a wiring issue
