Hi:
First, when this happens, you need to check to see if you are getting power to the starter. Have a helper turn the key to start position and check the smaller wire on the starter to see if it's getting 12 volts.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

I have a 98 lumina and had similar problem. I would have lights, radio, etc. I would turn the key and nothing(almost like the battery was dead) I would wait and it would start after a while. It seemed to do this if it was wet or cold (could be coincidence). There is a wire that is on your starter that seems to run to the front of the motor. I am saying it seems like it because I have never gotten under the car and looked, it seems that way from looking down (from above). When I have this problem, I have found that if I wiggle this wire, my car will start. I am suggesting maybe there is a bad connection with that wire. It has not happened to me in almost a year so I just never checked it(being lazy I guess). Hope this helps.
