I have a 95 and it got really hot one day. The dealer said they detected hydrocarbons in coolant. Now when I start it from cold, 8 mins later it goes into the red and over fills the resavoir while there is no heat coming out of heater.

Hi:

Did the heater work prior to the overheat? Also, did you check the T-stat, waterpump, radiator, and hoses? I have seen the lower rad hose collapse causing the vehicle to over heat. Also, if there is no heat and it worked before, there is a problem with the coolant making it to the heater core. Check hoses for heat. Also, make sure the cooling fans are turning on.

If the dealer found gas in your coolant, you may have a blown head gasket.
On top of what Jacobandnickolas told you, you should get that checked as well.
