1995 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my lumina yesterday started running rough. When I left a parking lot she ran real rough then as I gave it more gas she died. I started to restart she idled very rough then I tried to give it some gas she died again ti pulled over tried to restart she would start barely stay running I tried to give gas and she would just die finally gave up had it towed. My thinking is either fuel filter clogged or ignition problem. Little more info she was sitting six months before yesterday could it be the gas.

Hi, thanks for the donation. When was the last tune-up? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Around here some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage, if you don't have one? Any applicable trouble codes? Maybe the throttle-body and passages need cleaning? You need to rule something out, too many possibilities.

Should I change the filter anyway to start and clean the throttle plate gas might be old sitting for 6 months

Yes, the gas might be old? If you change the fuel filter, make sure no pressure on the system, before taking anything loose.
