2005 Chevy Impala guages going nuts

About 2 months ago the temp guage on my wifes 2005 Impala started going nuts. Now just a couple of days ago the speedometer started going nuts also. The dealer, of course, wants me to bring it in and pay 70 bucks for them to check it out. If anyone knows what the problem might be please let me know.

Hi:

It sounds like a ground problem. Could you give me a good discription as to what the gauges are actually doing?

Each time you turn the key on, the temp guage will start out at a different position. Once the car is running, the guage will read, but it is not in the right position. The speedometer works reads right sometimes, and sometimes you start the car and it will read somewhere between 40 and 80 mph when the car isnt moving. The gas guage works fine.I hope.

I hope the gas gauge is working too. (LOL) I would have the Body Control Module, (BCM) checked. It sounds like the problem lies there. Let me know if you have additional questions, let me know.
