1979 Chevy El Camino car crank exceessively after normal te

cold it would start up fine.but after driving around until needle hits normal tempeture and shut it down,it cranks along time turn it back on,i have to let it sit down,then i can crank it back up.this problem is draining my battery alot,well hopefully i hear from u guys.thanks

Maybe hot soak condition. When it's hot shut off see if fuel is leaking from carb into engine. Do you have a 4-BBL or 2?

Check coil spark see if it is blue/white and check fuel pressure maybe vapor lock
