My car came with 17 inch rims in fornt and 18 inch rims in back. Can I put 18 inch rims in front and back?

No, that is why it was like that from the factory.

I had the same size on my 98, but I switched and put 18" on the front, with 19" onthe back. So far everythings fine.

When you change wheel and tire sizes, you change the rolling circumference. The vehicle control modules use a preprogrammed measurement to determine shift points, torque control, and anti lock braking function. When this number is changed on the vehicle and not the computers, you have problems. Aftermarket programmers might help with this problem, but are not GM approved. The aftermarket companies did not design the corvette, GM did. If you run into problems, the wheel and tire companies probably won't be much help and GM won't help if the vehicle has been modified.
