Driving the car down the road and suddenly died. I have had this car for a decade and am pretty familiar with it. I started off by figuring out if this was a fuel problem or a spark problem. I pulled a spark plug wire and put another plug in it. Then while connected to spark plug wire grounded end of plug. Tried turning engine over with plugged in and got no spark. Engine cranks but does not fire. I can smell gas and get no spark so am guessing this is a electrical problem. Far as I know a bad solinoid would not even allow car to crank, it would just click when trying to start. I have tried replacing the Mass air Flow sensor with no results. So am narrowing my findings down to this and would like confimation. Either the coil is bad or the module inside the distruputer is bad. Aside this being the computer itself I can't think of anything else to explore. Would you agree? And do you have any other suggestions of things to look at?
Thanks as always,
Jamie

Odds are real good it is the ignition module in the distributor.
