Noises problem
2006 Chevy Cobalt 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently noticed that my car sounds like it is in the wrong gear. I guess it almost sounds like a airplane taking off or something like that. The sound is constant and I can even hear it over the radio. As my warranty has conviently expired a month ago, I wanted to get some advice as to what the problem could be. I have to say that there has been a problem with the steering wheel shaking and a thumping sounds when I stop. As far as I know I think the rotars need to be replaced or possibly rotated. Could this be related or a problem with the transmission?

If transmission is slipping, check fluid level in trans (if serviceable), other than that a trans shop is the best place to start.

If JUST out of warranty, check with dealer, they may fix it free, doesn't hurt to ask. They may give you an idea of what is wrong.
