Hi! I own a 2006 Chevy Cobalt, 4 Cyl, Front Wheel drive. About couple of month ago, I started having problem with my Electrical Power Steering system in my car. Sometimes when I drive the power steering goes out and I can't steer. I took it to two Dealers and one told me that all the steering column had to be replaced, the 2nd one stated that I needed to replace the steering kit which is the part where the motor and the module is but the part only is $467 dollars. A friend who owns the same car told me to remove the fuse for the power steering and leave it out for 30 second and put it back and it work for a while but now is doing it again. I know there is an open investigation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration because there are over 1,400 complaints about the same problem which also involved car crashes with injuries because of the same problem. Any suggestion that you guys can give out regarding this problem. Any help will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Gil Figueroa
