Radiator

I have a 1995, Chevy Cavalier, 2.2 lt engine, it has 337,000 miles. It appears to be leaking from the radiator side (the part that holds it, the black part of it) there is a crack on it. I am wondering if this can be replaced/fixed. No it is not over heating or any other noteable problems, other than the obvious low antifreeze after a day. Just thought I'd ask before I purchased a new radiator as it seems this is the only problem with it at this time. Thank you, any comment is appreciate it.

Hiya chevy, well there are shops that repair radiators with the type of damage that you explained, but in my personal opinion I would replace it because of the type of mileage the carhas on it. A good used one from a junk yard may run you the same price as repairingthe one you have.

Hope this helps.

You must first remove the electric fan. Its been a while since I've seen one of these but I beleive the radiator is connected to the air conditioning grill and you will have to unbolt it from it. May be 4 bolts one in each corner. Then unbolt the radiator. Make sure to drain the radiator from its drain plug at the bottom of the radiator. You will need an aproved conatainer to catch the fluid. ALso make sure to remove all hoses from the radiator to the engine.
