Windows that don't roll up or down, or have a hinge that opens, "simply" pop in and out.

To take it out safely, use two large suction cups with handles. Connect them to the out side, and have someone hold them. Then on the inside put one foot on one cup, and one on the other. With equal pressure on the feet, slowly push, and have the outside person pulling. They will pop out.

Putting the window back is easier, if you start right. Go ahead and replace the seal, since you have it out. Put a string inside the seal, and hold it in place with vaseline. Have the ends of the string hanging inside the vehicle.

As someone hold the window in place from the outside. Slowing pull the string from the inside, ensuring that the seal lip fully wraps on the inside. If you go slowly, the seal should go into place easily.

The window is shattered. Can I just pry the black seal out that held the window? Thank you for your quick reply.

If the window is shattered, its even easier :)

Lay down a sheet of plastic outside the car, put on some heavy leather gloves and push it out. Once it's out, you'll see how easy it really is to replace it.
