Chevy Cavalier 2004 Clutch problem

Help please. I need to fix this. I am very handy and it sounds like its not a bad problem...but I am financially strapped. the clutch pedal goes to floor and will not engage. Its not just sticking because when you physically pull it up it stays, but it is disengaged and wont go into gears.

check the linkage from the pedal to the the transmission. if it looks ok, nothing broke or binding, then something in the pressure plate broke, as a result the clutch will need replacing.
