04 Cavalier Problem PLEASE HELP!!!

i have no idea what is wrong but i have a 2.2 eco-tech 4 cyl. and i was driveing it in town and i went to shift gears but the gear shifter wouldnt shift it just moves around freely and i called the dealer where i got it and my warranty ran out so i have to fix it myself because i dont have the money to pay for a garge to fix it.. can somebody please help!!
The shifter just moves around freely and wont go into gear and the cluth is fine it has pressure.
PLEASE HELP!

Sounds like the shifter cable broke. You'll need to remove the center console and get a closer look to see what you have. You'll need a manual to get the removal and adjustment procedures. It's a little long to describe.
