My daughter's car was overheating and leaking anti freeze. She towed it to a repair place like Aamco or Meineke and they told her she had a leak in two of the heating coils.

Don't think that shop know what they are talking about, theres no such thing as a heater coil on this vehicle, the only thing I can think of is the heater core which there is only one. I'm certain that is what they were meaning as the anti-freeze does flow through the heater core, but there is only one heater core. The heater core does have 2 hoses though, both of those could be leaking maybe that is what they meant.

My daughter was quoted $400 to fix this leak. Assuming this, is the two heater hoses does this sound excessive. I assume the cost of the hoses to be minor but they might be hard to get at.

Just for replacing the 2 hoses that is pretty expensive, if the heater core itself is being replaced as well than that is an accurate quote. It only takes about 1 hour to replace the hoses, it takes nearly 6 hours to replace the heater core because the entire dash assembly must be removed.
