With the abs, air bag, and guages and lights going on and off these are all routed through the computer. Had you had it scanned after you had it done for the crank positioning sensor? Most likely the problem is in the computer. Since it is a 1998 you might get away with trying tio reset the computer yourself or you can have it done at a garage. Older cars they used to disconnect the battery, then let it sit for a few minutes. Without hooking the battery back up they would ground the positive cable to a ground of the car, to discharge any voltage left in the system. This clears the computer. After the battery is hooked back up the car most likely have to be driven about 40 miles before the computer is completly resets. If that does not help then it will have to taken to a garage to have any codes read.
