1997 Chevy Cavalier engine

1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

so I think i'd rather replace this engine with something a little bigger rather than fix this one and deal with the same issues over and over. What would be a good replacement? Preferably 6 cyl with the possibility of installing a turbo kit in the future.

An engine that was originally offered in car as an option would be best option, like 3100 V6.

GM generally has wiring and motor mount slots already in car.

Turbo would be another issue, since it was not offered as an option.

6 Cylinder would be the 3.1 engine, part of GM's 60 degree V6 family. 2.8, 3.1 and 3.4 are all 60 degree engines. The 3.4 was used in later models and has a better oiling system than eariler models.
