Engine Performance problem
1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl

Alright my car won't start. It wants to just won't. I put it on computer it is throwing a PO107 code. A throttle position sensor code. 2 too rich codes and a misfire code. We changed the map sensor and the car started for a moment. Changed the plug wires. Still won't start. When I hold my foot down on the gas it really wants to start. Fuel filter has been changed. Can the TPS prevent the car from starting? Where it wants to start can it be the fuel pump or is the timing off? Oh boy do I need a little direction.

Any sensor code, I'd check the wiring circuits to the sensor first. At the map sensor, I'd also check for vacuum. Use a gage and check fuel pressure, not only check for correct pressure, also, with everything turned off, check that the pressure doesn't drop like a rock all the way to zero. If the pressure does drop like a rock, could be a leaking pressure regulator or injector?

Ok so really thought it was the fuel pump. Replaced it and still will not run. When I hold my foot down on the pedal it really wants to start. Could it be the Throttle Position Sensor?
