My car runs fine in park and neutral but it stalls as soon as you tap the breaks or put it in gear. I was told it was the throttle position sensor, so I replaced it to no avail. Im thinking it a vac leak or a different sensor, ether way its something simple.
thanks for the help

If your tps was bad it would normally set the service engine light on. Try taking choke cleaner and spraying the throttle plate on both sides cleaning all the oil deposits off as this causes alot of problems like you describe. There is an oblong hole as well that the IAC goes to, clean that as well. Th car may start hard after that and make sure that you install the duct bak on before you start the car. See if that helps.

So far no service engine light came on. I'll try choke cleaner and i'll let you know what I come up with. Now the tricky part is getting to an automotive store with no car. Well I guess today the bus is my best friend.
Oh ya I forgot to say I can rev the engine and tap the breaks and it still stalls. Other than that it will run all day in park/neutral
thanks again for the suggestion, i'll keep you informed.
Jason.

Ok so it turns out is was a bad body ground, my car is getting rusty as they salt the roads so much here in Winnipeg, so I put it on a clean piece of steel and wallah still runs like a champ. I don't plug my car in in winter and it hits -50 Celsius on a cold day and she still starts.
