Alittle over a week ago I pulled into the parking lot of my office, turned the car off and heard a gurgling sound coming from the engine. Popped the hood and saw bubbling (boiling?) Inside the coolant overflow reservoir. I hadn't paid attention to the engine temp. But didn't think it was high. Nothing seemed to be wrong and I hadn't seen any thing leaking from under the car so thought to wait until it happened again. Saw some drops of liquid yesterday after parking my car going along the path of my tires as I parked, but it was clear not orange, so I figured it was condensate from the AC system.
Problem and gurgling sound didn't repeat until tonight sitting at a stop light. I checked the temp guage and it was going up and the fan didn't come on. Pulled in to get gas and popped the hood. Coolant was leaking out from under the reservoir cap.
Car's got a little over 132K. Automatic trans. Water pump and coolant replaced about 2 years ago. Drive belt was replaced end of March. I'm thinking thermostat or maybe the pump?
