Fan wont turn on I changed sending unit and temperature gauge is not showing hot

What problem are you trying to solve? A lot of GM engines need to get to around 220 - 224 degrees before the radiator fan turns on. Unplugging the 2-wire sending unit and the fan turns on proves the system is working.

I understand that, but it seems like it is running hot idle over thirty minutes or more is that normal?

Most of them are programmed even higher than that Doc. 227 is average. If the fan turns on when you unplug the CTS, the system is working fine.

If it is taking a long time to warm up you might have a bad thermostat.

If will generally set a P0128 of the T-stat is stuck open.

Not on a 1995 GM car. I know we are used to working on later model cars with that code. Lol.

Well, I changed that after I put new head gasket on it.
