Temp gauge goes up to the 3/4 mark

My Chevy cavalier 2001, temp gauge goes up to the 3/4 mark. I have put antifreeze in overflow tank but it always disappears. Is this normal and is the overflow tank always have to be 1/2 filled? Is it my radiator or thermostat? Help?

car temp gauge goes to the 3/3 mark. Overflow tank contents evaporates.

The coolant isn't evaporating its probably leaking onto the motor and burning before u can see it u need to have a pressure test done
