when my wife trys to start her car the security system /raidio says locked and the car wont start this happens all the time but if you disconnect the battery for a few it will start is there a way to fix this i know chevy has a secrity system on it is there a way to disarm this or should i take to the dealer last time she took it to them they told her it was a battery cablefor 200 dollars if you can help or this a common problem on this car any answer would help ...thanx agan

Hi:
The security system can cause problems. It may be the sensor in your key is bad, or the one in the steering column is the problem. Is the security light flashing when this happens? If so, you will need to take it to a dealer for repairs.
