2000 Camaro v6 manual 120,000 miles
The car starts fine but when put in to first or any other gear the car refuses to move or even act like its engaged, and a smell will come from the engine and through the vents in the car. The engine revs fine and no sounds are emmited when trying to move, The car had been acting sluggish for a couple days I thought it was the cold weather but upon trying to go up a steep hill the car wouldn't move anymore once it arrived at the top. No amount of fiddling would get it started again. Any ideas how I broke it? Thank you.

I wouldn't take it personally

It sounds like it might be time for a clutch from your symptoms. You can get some serious time out of a clutch if you baby them. I couldn't see me babying a camaro :)

The smell is probably waht is left of the disc burning, the reason for the recent sluggishness was the clutch slowly losing it's grabbing power. The engine revving and no movement seems to confirm that.

It varies for a lot of reasons, typically a clutch job runs around $500-$650 area. After looking at the prices and the labor time you may be a few hundred higher than that. Figure possibly double the part cost plus another 300 for labor as a ballpark.
