My 2 door 97 chey blazer 4.3 has issues i just put in a new fuel pump after the old one went out and now it wont start unless i put either gas or ether directly in the top of the throttle body. it will stay running fine but as soon as i shut it off it wont start again its like the computer isnt telling it to send gas while starting. can anyone help

The problem is either the fuel pump or the electrical connector to the pump or faulty fuel pump pulsator, very very common. I strongly recommend using ac delco fuel pump. The pulsator in the tank that is connected to the fuel pump has rubber o rings inside of it, did you replace that too or did you install rubber hose instead? Did the fuel pump come as a fuel pump-sender combo or was the pump seperate?

When you turn key to run -do you hear the fuel pump? If so check the fuel pressure/coolant temperature sensor

Is this a TBI or Vortec spider fuel system? With KOEO what is the fuel pressure?

Its a vortec and the pressure goes up to 60 while trying to start but drops to zero right after when ive been told its suppose to maintain pressure. While runing its at about 55. Im goning to test the lines to see if im losing pressure somewhere. But what I dont understand is why it runs fine but wont start at all with out assistance. Also recently while stoping at lights it has been bogging down majorly and almost dieing and only goes 5 to 7 mph until it finally kicks in again and acts normal.

Okay open up the upper plenum/intake and look for washed up area-pressure regulator could be leaking.

The fuel pump pressure should be 60-66psi

Check for plugged fuel filter/fuel pump strainer/restricted fuel line or disconnected dampener/pulsator.

I think your going to find the problem in the tank because I have found when the regulator is leaking it floods the engine so dumping gas into it would only flood it more, like ras said check the pulse dampener in the tank, im sure thats where your going to find your problem. The orange oring inside will be torn
