My Blazer has progressively taken longer to start when cold. It turns over easily but just takes longer and longer to start. This weekend, it wouldn't start at all. When I shot some starting fluid into the air intake, it started right up and continued running. When it has been running and I turn it off, it starts right up. It also runs smoothly and idles fine.

The fact that it started with starting fluid makes me believe there is a problem with fuel pressure. It could be something as simple as a fuel filter. I need you to check fuel pump pressure. Here is the how to for doing it.

You will need a pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend or rent them. I want you to pay special attention to pressure bleed off. That is when you shut the key. Check to see if the system holds pressure or if it quickly drops.

Let me know what you find.
