1997 Chevy Blazer Intermittant starting

I have a 1997 Blazer. Lately I have had trouble starting it. Theres plenty of juice it cranks but wont fire. I noticed that this conicides with the dash lights and gauges not going through their check sequence when the key is turned. The entire ignition switch was replaced about 4 years ago. I hear a click as the key is turned on like a relay is engaging but cant find its location on the wiring schematics.

This has been intermittant until today when I just barely got it home. Once its started it runs perfectly and doesnt exhibit any other problems.

What should I be looking for?

Ok what need to be know is does it have spark when this happens? If there is spark then what is the fuel pressure when this happens? This system needs 62 or more psi fuel pressure to start and runns on 55 psi. So with that I must ask how old is the fuel filter? Let me know what you find and we will take it from there.

The fuel filter was replaced last year. Injectors were cleaned at that time. As far as spark, the engine turns easily but doesnt fire. When the dash indicator lights and gauges finally go through their check at the key turn, everything works as it should. It starts immediately. I feel this has something to do with an electrical problem but I need more specific information about relays and their locations.

Ok so when is won't start does it or does it not have spark? If so do you hear the fuel pump come on when it won't start? This all helps so I can look over wiring diagrams and so on to see what is or isn't tied together that could be causing this problem.

I do hear the fuel pump. I dont know if theres spark. I think not or it would start. It has been an easy starting vehicle.

Well I need to know if there is or isn't spark as this will determine what we do to test things. So when it won't start pull a plug wire off and put a screwdriver in the end of the wire and put it close to metal and crank it see if there is spark. It could be that there is no fuel either as the injectors could be not getting a signal so I need to have the answer. Let me know what you find.
