I have a 1989 chevrolet s-10 blazer recently replaced thermostat and radiator and is still running at about 210 degrees and slowly climbs past I cheecked the water pump as referred by a friend by pinching the hose and feeling it surge as the temperature warmed up and it did is this an effective way to check and is there anything else I should check? Thank you

How high does the temp go? Have you checked the radiator fan clutch?

I always shut it off to cool when it passes 210 in hopes of not damaging the engine. Fan clutch works fine. I am stumped.

You wont over heat until 256. I would watch ato see how high you go. You could have a gauge thats off a little. Remember most vehicles that use electric cooling fans will run until 228 degrees before the fan even comes on.
