I have a 96 chev beretta, 3.1 4t60e trans, just replaced trans, bought it with a bad one, goes into gear nice but acts like it is stuck in high gear, keeps bringing up p1864 manufacturer controlled trans, had same code with old one but old trans had broken internal parts, do not understand HELP PLEASE

Check the cruise deactivation switch on the Master cylinder (2 wire) connector. Unplug it and see if it works. But don't forget you will have to manually shut it off! Also you'll need a piece of wire to jump the connector. I think the part is under a recall!
