I took my truck to a Chevrolet dealer three times. They can’t seem to figure out the problem. Check engine light comes on, reduces power, heavy vibration, sputtering when pushing the gas. I get the codes P2C13 and P2C14. When I erase the code and let the truck sit, I can drive without any issues before it decides to come back on again. I have changed the camshaft position sensor and lobe sensor on the driver side 1 and 3. No luck. Just last Sunday February 16th, I changed all 4 coil packs and spark plugs and then today February 20th engine light and codes came back.

GM has issued TSBs addressing engine wiring harness chafing leading to various DTCs, including P2C13 and P2C14.

TSB #21-NA-149, issued in November 2021

P2C13: "B" Camshaft Profile Actuator Position Sensor "A" Circuit High (Bank 1)
P2C14: "B" Camshaft Profile Actuator Position Sensor "A" Circuit Low (Bank 1)

I can tell you from my experience the high and low codes are telling us the camshaft actuators are bad and not holding position. This can be also caused by low or dirty engine oil. If the oil had not been changed, I would do new oil and filter and then clear the codes again. Is the engine making noise at idle?

Yes, it’s a little louder than normal.

This can be timing chains or a camshaft actuator problem, if you upload a short video of the noise I can tell for sure. How is the engine oil? Also, it could be the camshaft profile actuator position sensor not working correctly., here is the location of the sensor so you can swap it out and then clear the codes after. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I just got an oil change yesterday and then today the engine light came on with the same symptoms. I will swap out the sensors and see what happens.

Thanks for the video. Yep, it does sound like you have a chain chain/guide issue which will cause the codes. You can try swapping the sensors, but I think you may have bigger problems. Also, this engine has balance shafts which when they go bad will cause noises and vibrations. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I swapped the sensors. Code P2C14 popped up after driving a mile.

Yep, it sounds like there are internal issues with the engine, timing chain, camshaft actuator or guide-tensioner issues if the wiring harness from the TSB is okay.
