I just had put the car back together from fixing a transmission fluid leak. Two days later since I driven the car, I get a message across the instrument panel. Reading Power Steering, Different Coolant temperatures readings, my speedometer isn’t registering, either is the RPMs... When I started the car earlier today the RPMs would work then minutes later it just stop. The Speedometer hasn’t changed. The first day everything was working fine as I pulled it out of the garage to park it in the driveway. Didn’t move it or touch it for two days. Now this happens. So far, I’m checking all the fuses. The speed sensor has nothing to do with the RPMs..? The Power Steering is working but why is it coming across the instrument panel? A check engine light is on and since my car wouldn’t turn over. Had to lock up the car and get a ride home to get my scanner and some tools to see what I can do as process of elimination.

Hi,

The speed sensor code won't prevent it from starting, but a faulty crankshaft position sensor will.

What I need you to do is check for spark at the plugs. (I'm assuming the starter is turning the engine but the engine refuses to start).

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Also, here is a link that you may find of interest. See if anything mirrors what you are experiencing.

Let me know.

I used the obII scanner and it stated the A circuit is low and same code and stated performance/range. I replaced the sensor but the wires by the harness do so the insulation showing the bare wire so looks like I need to disconnect the wiring harness and individually cut back the bad wire and reconnect it securely. I ordered the wiring harness. The other codes still the speed sensor. I ordered that as well. Third code messaged Multiple Cylinder Misfires. Now a new one Camshaft position sensor A Circut Low. My instrument panel gives me different Coolant temperatures. The Average mileage doesn’t have any Numerics Average Miles Per Gallon no number. I’m guessing it’s because of the speed sensor. Still stating Power Steering but no issues on Power Steering but mileage has hit 140k so it could be that everything is at its point to be replaced. The Safety Airbag Check message on the panel but nothing has changed on the Airbags, no accidents no impacts... Unless it's just routine check but don’t have a Controller Area Network scanner. If the dealership going to charge me to handle the Airbag Safety check?

Hi,

If you go to a dealer, they will charge you for everything. The airbag light could be the result of a faulty clock spring in the steering wheel.

As far as the MPG not showing, I agree with you. It is likely the result of the sensor. Have you been able to repair the bare waires?

Let me know.

The codes that show on the obdII scanner are both the same code P0341 camshaft position sensor A Circuit Low Range / Performance Bank 1 or Sensor. Almost started but I had to give it gas to keep it alive but eventually shut off and now it won’t crank. I’m going to take out the sensor, wipe it up if need be and put it back in and erase codes and try starting it.

Hi,

I attached the diagnostics below specific to the code. It provides a description of the code and the diagnostics.

Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

I just realized that there are two posts from you. LOL I started reading this one and when you said, ". Got a hold of my cousin's husband." I knew something was similar.

Regardless, let me know if I can help in any way.

Take care,

joe
