Hi,
It is possible that being on a hill could have caused it. I'm sure it wasn't designed to do that. If it happens again, try this:
1. From the off position, turn the key to run (engine off) and count to 5.
2. Turn key off and repeat step 1 three times.
3. On the 4th time, see if the engine starts normally.
If it does, that indicates the fuel pressure dropped off and it took the pump a few tries to get it when it was needed to start.
