I was driving my car and came to a stop sign when the car just quit running. I thought maybe it just stalled out, but the car wouldn't start back up. I had smelled burning rubber just prior to the car shutting down, so I checked all the belts and everything is fine. Battery is brand new, lights and wipers work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
-Brent

Hi Brent,

I would start by following the information in the link below. It walks you through all the basic areas that can cause an engine to not start(or stall).

Thank you for the information, but none of these seem to resolve the problem. I hear a buzzing noise when I turn the key, but I see nothing moving in the engine bay. The buzzing noise is very faint, but that's the only sound coming from the car. Upon further inspection, I found that the belt for the blower motor was disconnected, but I don't believe that would cause this issue.

Good morning.

So it sounds like the engine does not crank at this point? If this is the case, I would review the information in the repair guide below. Does this buzzing sound only occur when the key is turned to the Start position? Do you hear a click sound or anything of that nature?

Yes, the sound only happens with the key in the start position. There's no click, though.
