So my car has no oil and been making this noise. Suddenly one day on the highway I was driving my car behind to slow down and lights cut on and engine will go slow when I push the gas pedal and started to slow down and turn off on.

Hi,

I need you to explain what is meant by no oil. If there was no oil in the engine, we could have several issues. Also, can you describe the noise? Was it a ticking or knocking sound? When you try to start it now, what happens?

Let me know.

Joe

Yeah, it was no oil in the car. It was making ticking noise but I didn’t know what it was but the battery works and the car will click when I turn it. Also it knocks when I drive.

If the battery is charged and all you get is a click when you try to start it, I suspect the engine is locked. Now you indicate it clicks when you turn it but it knocks when you drive. The engine does still run? Or, do you only get a click when you turn to start it?

If it does run and you hear a knocking, then I suspect main bearings or rod bearings in the engine are damaged.

Let me know,

Joe

If the engine was run without oil and started to knock I would start looking for a replacement engine. Knocking means that at least one bearing has already failed and more will follow. Unless you know someone who does machine work very cheap you would likely save a lot of money with a used or re-manufactured engine over trying to rebuild yours.
