Hello, since this is a European model, we don't have as much information on this vehicle. It's not even listed in our database. But a few basic things, was the vehicle idling as it normally does? It wasn't a little high or low before you went to take off.
Another thing to look for, does the Check Engine light come on while cranking the engine over? It should for a few seconds. Even at just Key On position the Check Engine light should come on for 2-3 seconds then go off.
If it does not, that means the Engine computer has lost power. If it does still come on, then you need to check for Ignition Spark first, and then Fuel pressure if you have Ignition Spark.
I do not see any recalls that have to do with this issue on US models. But I will look through the technical service bulletins for any additional information.
you may want to have the Engine computer scanned for Diagnostic codes as well.
