It tries to turn over, it’s been an ongoing issue. Checked battery, new battery, checked fuses and circuits, all good. Spark plugs good. Fuel line pressure no gas came out when pressed. Engine didn’t start with engine starter fluid placed in air intake. Ran diagnostics no other code showed up except for 12.

Hi,

Can you confirm engine size for me? The 2.8L V6 was used in 85 and not the 3.4L.

Here is a link which walks you through how to diagnose and repair a crank no start condition:

If it won't start with starting fluid, I suspect you are not getting spark. Take a look through this link:

I also need to know if you have an internal coil (in distributor cap) or a remote coil. I assume, based on your description, it has multi port fuel injection.

Let me know.

How can I find out what coil It has? (I apologize if that’s a silly question I’m still learning about this vehicle.)

On the top of a distributor cap that has HEI, it will have a square bulge which is the coil under the cap. If you have a remote coil, the top of the distributor cap will have one wire (spark plug wire) that will be centered on the cap and it will run to a coil.

Sounds good. Make sure to check all fuses under the hood as well. I realize you indicated they were checked, but in addition, make sure they have power to them. Here are a few links you may find helpful:

Also, there is an inline fuse for the fuel pump. It's on the passenger side of engine compartment, on wheel well

I found a pic of the HEI with spark control distributor for you to see. Let me know if this is what you have.
