When I start my car in the morning (it was around 50 degrees this morning) it was really trying to start and it cranked for a extra couple seconds than it usually does.

I thought it was the temp that affected it but It wasnt the case when I had the same thing happen to me at 65 degrees earlier that day. When I leave the car for long periods of time it really tries to start, it does start and run fine but it really surprised me when it did this twice.

The battery in the car is fairly new so I ruled that out.

Any tips?

Hello,

This sounds like the throttle bore needs to be cleaned. here are two guides to help us fix the problem:

and

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/engine-cranks-excessively-before-starting

Please run down these guides and report back.
